Episode 15: Luciana Pinchiero

Luciana Pinchiero, an Argentine artist with an MFA from Parsons The New School in NYC and a BFA from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, has exhibited her work in various venues across New York City, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, France, and Iceland. She has been awarded the LungA School Residency Fellowship in Seyðisfjörður, Iceland, and participated in the 38th cycle of the AIM program at the Bronx Museum of the Arts. Pinchiero, based in Brooklyn, NY, primarily engages in collage, photography, moving images, and objects, exploring postcolonial 'herstory' by questioning historical narratives and their established patterns. Her recent projects focus on challenging traditional Western depictions of historically significant male figures and contributing to a generational shift in Latin American perspectives on identity and historical representation. Pinchiero aims to provoke thought about the impact of certain statues and public representations on class, race, and gender perceptions, rather than merely reproducing these images.
